Who’s behind it

Marty Gunderson, Founder. Marty has spent close to 30 years in regulated industries. That includes nearly a decade as a financial advisor and running operations for an exempt market dealership through securities-commission approval, so he knows what it takes to stay compliant when a regulator comes asking. He has also built over 1,000 lots and units in real estate development and co-founded several companies. He built PPMP Ready to turn PPMP and CPD compliance from a dusty binder into a simple, always-current system.

PPMP Ready LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company. The product is a prep aid for engineering and geoscience firms.

Independent tool. Not affiliated with or endorsed by APEGA or EGBC.

Built alongside a practising engineering firm that works under these requirements.

The Readiness Check uses the same APEGA and EGBC requirement themes the product already scores: the PPMP, the responsible professional, the annual review, CPD or CE, and the records behind them.

Sample fix list

Examples only. Not findings about your firm, and not a review we have done.

  • Example gap: the annual PPMP declaration was not signed this year.

Example fix: have the senior officer and a Responsible Member sign and date it after the internal review. On an EGBC permit, record Responsible Officer and Responsible Registrant approval instead.

  • Example gap: nothing shows the PPMP was reviewed in the last year.

Example fix: write the review date and whether the plan was updated or left as it was.

  • Example gap: continuing education is a heading with no process behind it.

Example fix: describe how the firm supports CPD or the CE program, including the records you could produce if asked.

Packs framed by coverage — not a mandate in every jurisdiction

EGBC and APEGA mandate a PPMP. PEO is voluntary. Engineers Canada is non-binding national guidance. APEGS is emerging. Scores use the pack you select and its coverage label.

Frequently asked questions

PPMP Ready, Canadian engineering compliance, and how to get started.

What is a PPMP and why do I need one?

A Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) documents how a firm manages professional practice and quality. Whether a PPMP is required depends on the jurisdiction: EGBC and APEGA mandate a PPMP; PEO publishes voluntary practice guidance (no PPMP mandate); other packs are emerging or non-binding national guidance. PPMP Ready scores your documents against the regulator pack you select and labels that pack’s coverage — it does not treat every pack as a binding mandate.

How does PPMP Ready help with regulatory audits?

PPMP Ready keeps an audit trail of compliance activity. You can generate an evidence pack that includes your PPMP index, SOPs, version histories, and employee acknowledgment records.

Can I import my existing SOPs and documents?

Yes. PPMP Ready accepts PDF and Word files. The system extracts text for compliance analysis and keeps the original files. You can bulk-import documents during onboarding.

How does the regulatory monitoring work?

The product monitors official regulator sources (including EGBC, APEGA, and PEO) for policy updates. When a relevant change is detected, you get an alert identifying SOPs that may be affected. You review and approve changes before they are applied.

Who can see our documents?

Documents are available to signed-in users in your organization, with role-based permissions for Admins, Compliance Officers, and Employees.

How do employee acknowledgments work?

Compliance Officers can send an SOP to employees for acknowledgment. Employees read the document (with a minimum review time) and sign digitally. The system records who acknowledged each document and when, and can send reminders for outstanding items.

How do I see PPMP Ready on my own documents?

Request access and tell us your firm and regulator, and we will arrange a walkthrough or demo of the platform using your own documents.

What do the professional services include?

The published packages are optional help on top of the software: PPMP Setup (per jurisdiction, one-time, billed upfront); Jurisdiction Review — a gap review of an existing PPMP (per jurisdiction); Compliance Maintenance: Small (1–20 employees) · Medium (21–50) · Large (51–200) · custom 201+. Yearly billing is 12 months for the price of 10. Setup and Jurisdiction Review are either/or for the same jurisdiction — never both. Choose Setup if you have no PPMP yet, or a Gap Review if you already have one. Buy them from the services section on the home page. The platform account is still request-access.

Do I need both PPMP Setup and a Jurisdiction Review?

No. For any one jurisdiction it is one or the other: Setup if you have no PPMP yet, or a Jurisdiction Review of the PPMP you already have. A firm adding a second jurisdiction makes the same choice again for that jurisdiction. Compliance Maintenance is separate and optional.

What is the PACE & CPD add-on?

An optional add-on for Alberta permit holders who want PACE competency planning and CPD records organized alongside their PPMP: priced per engineer or geoscientist per year, with lower per-seat pricing at 10–49 and 50+ seats. Seats apply to licensed engineers and geoscientists only. It is available now — PPMP Ready turns it on for your organization, and your admin assigns seats per person. It is an independent prep aid — not affiliated with or endorsed by APEGA, and not a compliance guarantee.

What is the PPMP Readiness Check?

A free check with no account. Upload your PPMP for a readiness score, or answer 10 yes/no questions if you have no PPMP handy. The quiz shows your score on the page before it asks for an email, and you can email yourself the full report. The detailed fix plan is the Gap Review. A longer 15-question check is also available. It is not a regulator review.

What happens if I upload a PPMP?

You can upload one text-based PDF or DOCX and see how many checklist sections look thin or missing. The section names are emailed to you. The file is not kept. This is an automated read of that one document, not a paid Jurisdiction Review.
